Ranelagh Arts

September 2024

Curator

Julia curated Repository Apparatus for Magical Thinking: Theia Mania I at Ranelagh Arts, Dublin, in September 2024.

Repository Apparatus for Magical Thinking: Theia Mania I is an exhibition by artist Cecilia Bullo, with the participation of filmmaker and writer, Fatoumata Gandega.

Repository Apparatus for Magical Thinking: Theia Mania I is a peek into Cecilia Bullo’s long standing research into Antonin Artaud’s oeuvre and life. Bullo reinvests the concept of ‘organised anarchy’ by the 20th century French writer, poet and essayist, and translates it into ‘chaos magic apparatus’, a philosophy of experimentation, play and creativity that discards dogmatic rules.

Performative interventions will take place on the opening night, Friday 6 September 2024, and at the closing event, Thursday 27 September, with the participation of French visual artist and writer Fatoumata Gandega, invited to collaborate and respond to Bullo’s work.
